What’s multimedia?
Multimedia is media and content that uses a combination of different content forms. The term can be used as a noun (a medium with multiple content forms) or as an adjective describing a medium as having multiple content forms. The term is used in contrast to media which only use traditional forms of printed or hand-produced material. Multimedia includes a combination of text, audio, still images, animation, video, and interactivity content forms.
Multimedia is usually recorded and played, displayed or accessed by information content processing devices, such as computerized and electronic devices, but can also be part of a live performance. Multimedia (as an adjective) also describes electronic media devices used to store and experience multimedia content. Multimedia is distinguished from mixed media in fine art; by including audio, for example, it has a broader scope. The term “rich media” is synonymous with interactive multimedia. Hypermedia is considered to be one particular multimedia application.

I’ve got MS Word – why would I need a designer?
In the nineties it was a common question. The wave of desktop publishing was washing in. But the reality is that designing a functional logo or business card will always require an artistic eye, design experience and intimate knowledge of professional software which ensure consistency of your image, especially colour matching for both printers and online representations of your image. Word processing packages are great for writing letters after your designs have been professionally crafted, but they do have serious limits which a quality layout tool such as professional illustration software quickly overcomes. That’s because design software is written to allow the subtleties that a graphics artist requires to craft your unique image.
Use whatever methods available to you to flesh out your own ideas for your design. You might start out with a pencil sketch or a word document drawing. We will then take that idea and shape it exactly the way you want. We will polish it up so you have a slick professional logo.
How much do you charge?
That’s one of those questions, like, how long is a piece of string? We can work within your budget, big or small. Everyone’s budgeting requirements are completely different, whether you are looking for a corporate video or a website, a television commercial or a station ident. Whether your work is required for a small business or a corporation. We can discuss your next project and come up with a price and finished product that will leave you more than happy.

What is 3d animation?
3d animation has been around for a long time. The idea of 3d animation is to create an illusion of real depth and form that mimincs what we experience in the real world. Noddy and Gumby are classic animated characters that use non computer based 3d techniques called claymation. Each moving object is moved minutely for each frame. As film plays back at 24 frames per second, many frames and movements need to be recoded manually to give the illusion of movement. As computing has become more powerful over the years the task of animating and modeling can now be done virtually on a computer workstation. This is the techinque that Mish Mash uses. With software such as Lightwave 3d, Modo and Soft Image Xsi.
What is 2d animation?
In 2d animation the illusion of movement is created on a frame by frame basis similarly to 3d but it is solely done either either by hand drawn images or using flat “cutout” pieces. And can usually simulate a 3d environment via skillfully drawn images and backgrounds or scaling of objects in front of the camera. Modern computing software allows very creative use of 2d techniques that would have been very expensive to execute in the past using film based optical printers. Modern ‘flash’ uses traditional 2d techniques to animate. Examples of famous 2d animation is the Flintstones or the Monty Python animations.
What’s a logo?
A logo is a graphical representation of a business or concept. It can be text or an image, but is generally a sophisticated yet simple combination of both. Your logo is very powerful in establishing a unique identity. The creation of a logo is a great place to start the development of your corporate image.
